More than movement. A practice of coming home to yourself.

Yoga Classes + Workshops

Move with more awareness. Get curious about what your body is communicating. Create space to slow down, breathe, explore, and experience yourself a little differently.
For me, yoga began at sixteen as a way to build a more compassionate relationship with my own body and mind. More than two decades of teaching later, that same spirit of curiosity, connection, and self-discovery continues to shape every class and workshop I offer.

My teaching is multi-faceted and integrative, bringing together anatomy, alignment, energetics, philosophy, contemplative practice, somatic awareness, and the mind-body connection.

But the practice is about more than what we bring to the mat. It’s about learning to pay attention—to move with awareness, listen with curiosity, and notice what becomes possible when we meet ourselves without needing to perform, perfect, or push.

A practice that meets the whole person.

Because how we meet ourselves in practice can shape how we meet ourselves beyond it.

Trauma Informed Yoga Training

This 3-day intensive takes a deep dive into the pillars of Trauma Informed Care applied to helping professionals or teachers wanting to support special populations and communities and to be better equipped for working with trauma sensitive clients.

retreats

Space to step away. Room to come back to yourself.

Every so often, I offer or collaborate on retreats that create space to step outside the rhythm of everyday life and settle more deeply into the practice. With more time to slow down and be present, these experiences invite deeper reflection, connection, and discovery without rushing toward what comes next.

Current Retreats

Sometimes, a little space is all we need to hear what’s already there.

Every so often, I offer or collaborate on retreats that create space to step outside the rhythm of everyday life and settle more deeply into the practice. With more time to slow down and be present, these experiences invite deeper reflection, connection, and discovery without rushing toward what comes next.

Nothing on the calendar just yet.

Retreats are added throughout the year as new opportunities and collaborations come together.

Check back soon to see where we'll gather next.

Every now and again, someone will come along that combines a deep, intuitive understanding of the complexities of the energetic ‘world’ with a firm grasp of scientific and psychological knowledge and I believe that I have found that in Robin. Perhaps due to her own life experiences or for reasons we are not always able to grasp, she seems to have a gift that allows her to understand – either cognitively or intuitively – what is needed to allow deep healing to occur.

"What Robin does is transformative"

When I met Robin a few years ago, I was suffering from post-traumatic stress and barely functioning. Every aspect of my life was a mess. My nervous system was stuck in a chronically heightened state and my body perceived almost everything as life-threatening. After working with her for the last two years, I am back to living (instead of surviving) and excited to see what new adventures await. I always felt safe. I always felt heard. I learned so much from her and will always be grateful for her wisdom and teachings.

"After working with her for the last two years, I am back to living (instead of surviving"

I have been working with Robin for the better part of 3 years. In that time she has helped guide me through personal and emotional development, unlike any other mental health professional I have worked with. When I sat down with Robin for the first time I thought to myself “this is a real person”. I look forward to my sessions, not because someone is going to fix me or tell me what’s wrong with me. Instead, Robin is someone who is going to walk beside me, guide, and educate me. She challenges me to improve and become personally responsible for my life. If you think that you’re ready for actual change, versus talking about it, I encourage you to connect with Robin.

"When I sat down with Robin for the first time I thought to myself “this is a real person”

I have been managing my mental health for the majority of my adult life and the last six months with Robin have been more effective than my last 10 years of therapy. Her approach and methods are welcoming and comforting. It is easy to trust her in ways that may feel difficult to share elsewhere. I trust wholeheartedly that the time I spend with Robin, I am seen, I am heard, I am understood, and there is hope. What else can we ask for from our healer?

"I" have attended Robin’s retreats, horse therapy, and one-on-one therapy sessions with her. She sees people at such a deep level"

When I discovered Robin’s age, I was gently surprised. Not that she appears greater than her years, but her knowledge of life’s issues, and her considerable presence when called upon with questions about the physical, emotional, or spiritual aspects of one’s being is beyond her years. I have been practicing yoga with Robin for 13 or 14 years. She reminds us to remain present with whatever is going on in our lives. She reminds us to feel what is going on in our bodies, to remain unattached and to allow ourselves to feel and release in any way that serves.”

"She brings to practice a deep understanding of the physical aspects of the body, & a vast knowledge, and therefore understanding, of the human psyche"

What Robin does is transformative, and her style is a blend of its own. Many teachers can teach us the poses and the alignments, but there is something special that Robin brings, from the inside, it is clear that she has a value for the inner experience of yoga. Robin cares genuinely about your connection to yourself. She has no end to this readiness to serve those she teaches; whether it be through the imparting of her wisdom, the sharing of her expertise in leading the movements, bringing out props or blankets for those she sees who need assistance, gentle hands-on guidance or correction, or the natural peaceful energy she imparts through her presence alone. Robin’s impact is a powerful one – through the subtle use of grace.

"Robin cares genuinely about your connection to yourself."

It takes a certain kind of demeanor, articulation, and grace to not only captivate an audience but to also leave them wanting to take the next steps towards betterment – and Robin possesses those qualities innately. Robin hosted a Rooted in Resilience workshop with Fresh Start Women’s Foundation for a Mother’s Day event.

"The serenity and wisdom Robin brought to the group left an air of hope in the room."

Robin Afinowich understands the need for resilience and trauma-informed care at such a deeply personal level, she is enabled to present the idea of professional resilience at the macrosociological level, while maintaining such an intimate connection with her audience one if left wondering if she is speaking directly to them.

"Robin Afinowich understands the need for resilience and trauma-informed care at such a deeply personal level"

Come as you are.

You don't need to have it all figured out.
You don't need to arrive as a more enlightened version of yourself.
